Its not uncommon for animal lovers we offer our pets all the comforts of home and this includes the use of our furniture. Now there are many who do not allow their cats and dogs enjoy their NAPs on the couch or arm. For those of us who do, maybe we're thinking that this is a bit selfish on their part. Before taking any hasty decision on their actions even if we can think about just how great a favour really are doing for their pets. We actually can be killing our pets once again with kindness.
If your set Chesterfield is older than 2004 and allow your pets free use it so you may be putting them in danger. The problem lies with flame retardant that were used to treat these and many other elements pre 2004 we have in our home. Once again, as consumers of products we have been led to believe that because something is offering a security feature to us how these retardants, that there was a heavy price attached to it, as well as money. In this case is the risk for our pets.
A recent study has found this chemical fire retardant present at levels 5% to 10% higher in dogs than what is in man, which is a strong indicator that their systems absorb more easily then their human counterparts. So now that leads to the next question such as these chemicals are doing to pets? It would seem that no one has the answer yet alone as a result of these chemicals in both animals and humans have found. This is not surprising, but it would make sense to say that any chemical found in human or animal body that is not meant to be really there cannot be very good for them.
The choice to allow pets on furniture is really an individual, but it's really frustrating to believe that if it looks safe for you or your children use your furniture, then surely it must be safe for pets right? In all places where you can go around the world, is your home not suppose to feel where you are the safest? It seems to me like knowledge more than just what we have in our homes is pop then perhaps taking chances with your pet is the best way to go.
