Guinea Pig cages-size really matter?

When it comes to cages for Guinea-India, the main thing you need to remember is that bigger is better. It is true that Guinea Pigs are usually with their cages when you get them from the pet store, but these cages are so small that do not allow the pig much space.

Imagine if you had your pet and you were made to stay in a box that is just 30 inches by 36 inches. A complete revolution that your House would take a few seconds. That not only is in no way to live and be healthy! Good thing, however, there are better quality and cheaper alternative to those cages from pet store as cages C & C or cubes and Coroplast

Advantages of larger cages

As mentioned, bigger is better when it comes to cages for Guinea Pigs. Here are the reasons why a larger cage is higher.

First get to exercise-as with all animals, it is very important in keeping your cavy healthy exercise. If your pet does not log enough physical activity in a day and that you're eating alone, then have a tendency to gain weight. This increases the risk for all types of health problems like diabetes, heart disease, respiratory problems and bladder infections.

Adult males may also develop what is known as compression, a loss of muscle tone in the anus. Compression causes excrement back up, just as if they were constipated that require regular cleaning by the owners. In the case of female adults, have a tendency to gain weight around their bellies so ovarian cysts can be more difficult to detect if they are overweight.

Secondly to exercise when they want-Guinea Pigs do not have fixed body clocks so you can't always do their exercise according to your time. That is why, having a large cage, they have a lot of space to run, play and exercise whenever you choose! Really, this is the option most convenient for everyone, especially to you!

Thirdly, the exploration is possible-providing larger cages for you by the company means more space to explore, this is important because it gives them the kind of stimulation that must remain sharp, alert, and most of all happy.

Finally enjoy peace and order-Guinea Pigs are social animals so they like to be around other guinea pigs. However, much like humans, they will benefit from time apart as well. Bigger cages give them enough space to play with each other and retire at a certain angle when you don't feel like playing more. This will prevent them from getting restless, fighting and hurt themselves or their friends.

By choosing a size

The general rule is that most guinea pigs, you should be a bigger cage. If you have just one or two guinea pigs, however, you should have at least 7.5 square metres of available space. If you have three, so should be provided at least 10.5 sq ft and if you have four, then 13-square-foot space is highly ideal.

By providing your pet with a cage of suitable size is important. Many unfortunate and distressing situations not only guinea pigs, but it will prevent. These days there are lots of options for cages, you can buy or build your own, and really costs should not be an excuse.

If you want a pet you should be able to provide the most basic of elements, and a suitable House is crucial. More to the point large cages are not that expensive especially if you use a little imagination, as I've mentioned C & C cages are probably the best.
